C3's Wayne Cole wins in Strikeforce Battle
C3 fighter and 205lbs Champion Wayne Cole defeated Mike Kyle at the Le vs. Shamrock Strikeforce event held in San Jose, California on March 29th. Many thought Kyle, the 245lb. veteran of UFC 47 and 49, would be the favorite to win over the 205lb. Cole from Norman, Oklahoma. Kyle's past wins clearly showed the Boise, Idaho native had perfectly balanced MMA skills with wins both by striking and submissions. Cole, one of C3's premier fighters and a former All-American wrestler put Kyle's hopes of victory to rest by ending the match with an armbar submission at 45 seconds of the first round. The submission win was a surprise to everyone, as Cole, although a championship caliber wrestler, is most known for his devastating knock-out power punching, taking out his last three opponents in less than a minute. Cole is scheduled to fight UFC veteran Edwin Dewees on an upcoming C3 card but first will make another Strikeforce appearance on an upcoming NBC televised fight.

CONTENDERS SERIES CONTINUES IN MAY

Mixed Martial Arts is exploding! All over the world, the sport has taken center stage in fight entertainment and
the scene is no different in Oklahoma City! C3 Fights is proud to present the fourth installment of MMA bouts, “The Contender Series Featuring Oklahoma’s Local Heroes ” in May. The showcase series of 12 events over 2008, which kicked off in January, are held at the historic Oklahoma City Farmers Market in downtown OKC.
Each event will feature 12 to 15 fights, including headliner bouts with established, tried and tested fighters
including C3 stars Brandon Shelton, Kevin Frazier, Ryan Lopez, Nathan James, Jeff Davis, Christian Sanchez,
and Joe Groce.
The fights will be streamed on LiveSportsVideo.com for Internet Pay-per-View.

The popularity of Mixed Martial Arts is growing throughout the county and with all sports, every MMA
champion had to start somewhere. With this in mind, C3 Fights presents “The Contender Series
Featuring Oklahoma’s Local Heroes” to help showcase the bevy of talent in the Sooner State.
Athletes from every gym in Oklahoma are encouraged to apply for available slots on C3 fight teams.
Applicants will have to be assessed by C3 Fight's Athlete Performance Division headed by World
Champions Pat Burris and Anthony “Mad Dog” Macias, Pride and UFC legend, in cooperation with
their instructors. C3 Fights is committed to giving Oklahoma’s champions of tomorrow that first step
to greatness.
“The Contender Series – Local Heroes” will be the breeding ground for the Oklahoma training facilities
to let their local heroes shine, and will serve as a launch pad for the winning fighters to become MMA
fighters on the C3 Fights National Team Circuit. Each event will feature 12 to 15 fights, including
